Do you eat too much?

If you consume 200 to 500 calories per day too much, you have three choices:

  • Go and sport every day. But nobody can sustain it.

Why is losing weight normally so difficult? People like dutch dietguru Sonja Baker think that only calorie restriction is sufficient to get trim. For them losing weight is simple arithmetic. Imagine that you need to have 2000 calories per day as a woman, then according our "experts" you simply reduce with 600-1000 calories, to quickly lose a kilo per week. And many a Dutchman is in a hurry because only fast results counts and therefore chooses this as a means to drastic lowering daily calories.

But such a drastic measure does not go unnoticed; the body is a smart engine that recognizes patterns and due to a low calorie intake protects itself, by reducing the metabolism. As soon as you deviate from your diet you immediately gain more weight because you metabolism has been tuned in on a lower intake and therefore stores the extra calories in the body as fat. What I discover is that with this type diets a great lack of vital Omega 3 acids exist which is important to the brain, satiations, your heart and blood vessels and all kinds of other processes in the body.

This wrong economy will break many persons in the long run. Furthermore it is in my eyes impossible, with a diet of 1000-1200 calories, to get all necessary nutrition substances down.

Another big problem is that the world looks at fat not as ally but as an adversary. One has since the 1950s a fixation for fat but nothing has helped and overweight has only increased. The problem of this sort crash diets is still the basis for fast carbohydrates such as potatoes, buns, breakfast cake. These hurry up the sugar mirror too much and as a result your appetite increases only whereas correctly albumen and good fats satisfy.

Sonja and many of her colleagues apparently didn’t get the message given by the many scientific studies which have been done the last years regarding low carbohydrate programs (low carb). Also in studies in which the correlation exists between excess weight and low fat products/taste enhancers are demonstrated, are unknown to these experts. Thus no cooked potatoes, crusted roll and products with taste enhancers or low fat products which boost your appetite, but only nutrition with a low gluten free value. This is nutrition which keeps your sugar mirror stable because sugars are released slowly and therefore satisfies longer. The more fibers contained in the product, the lower the value of gluten free is. The trick is further is to raise the good albumens (such as green vegetable, beans, nuts and algae) and good fats (such as unheated nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocados and fatty wild fish) so that you are longer satisfied and get down important building bricks for your body.

The biggest mistake the majority of people make when on a diet is to cut out fats. This gives not only big problems with elimination and intake of fat soluble vitamins but sabotages also the brain. There is more and more proof for correlations between among others depressions, amnesia, concentration problems and shortages due to Omega 3 acids.

15 years ago I suffered the same mistake, fat was banned, and the base became bread with lean condiment and cooked potatoes. To save you 15 years of misery you can reinvent the wheel or profit of my experiences and knowledge for free. I do not have to earn on you, don’t have to promote cheap articles from the supermarket and you don’t have to wear out books which I leave to others. My mission is to awake you and to make you realize that nutrition plays a vital role and is not a shut case in your life.

My formula is very simple, the less that you move around, the less carbohydrates that you must eat. It is really not a problem to go biking or walk during the day and a sandwich is no problem. But if you sit the entire day in an office or sit a lot on a seat then fast carbohydrate is your strongest enemy. And this adversary will take care eventually to give you diabetes. To the nutrition center is with regard to diet, everyone an equal, but you can not compare someone who work the whole day in the field with a computer analyst like I. If you have a belly then you must choose for restricted quantity slow carbohydrates. Fat free food will work in time adversely.

My slogan is awareness

First of all, the word diet is in fact not the correct word. Namely, it is all about some awareness of the role of nutrition in your health. When you are aware of what you put in your mouth you are on your way. Many people survive instead of live because they stand daily in line, don’t enjoy work, have stresses in their lives and meals are a shut door for which little time remains. Thus quickly in and out of the supermarket, to buy a pile of groceries destined for the microwave at home. Once in a while it is alright, I can enjoy a bag of fries or croquette in time too but it concerns the base of your existence. Without a healthy body you can’t enjoy many things any longer optimally and the best investment which you can do is still your own body. Choose refined products with a lot of chemicals and synthetic additives then you can be assured to sabotage yourself.

Without good nutrition you don’t have you the proper fuel for your engine and one day you will get stuck with an engine breakdown. A healthy body is the most valuable possession, but many realize that a lot of things can go wrong. We exhaust ourselves and keep ourselves going with sources such as coffee, cola, nicotine, potent drinks, quick sugars and like medicines it covers up symptoms and you haven’t solve the cause.

If you really like to do something for your health then look critically at your nutrition. Go back to basics, which are still vegetables, fruit, water, beans, raw nuts and seeds and limit animal products. Grains are also important but of the kinds which do not speed up your sugar mirror such as oatmeal, rye bread, buckwheat etc.

Don’t let yourself be driven nuts by propaganda of the industry. Too many people fall prey to it. Masses of people switch to margarine (plenty of transfats - see because creamery butter was to be unhealthy, and instead margarine and harden lard blocks are the destroyers of your blood vessels. Milk is also an item, we only hear concerning the studies which are favorable for the milk industry but one conceals critical studies and correlations with mucous membrane problems, skin problems, bowel problems etc because it is damaging for the trade.

Every natural doctor knows this but the average general practitioner knows little about nutrition because it’s not part of the curriculum. The role of nutrition is still underestimated by the medical vestige and pharmaceutical medicines are preferred. But there are fortunately doctors with orthomolecule training which looks at to the role of nutrition in complaints and excess weight.

An important cause of overweight is disturbance of the sugar mirror which too much shoots up whereby the body must too frequently produce insulin. This overload is possible to all sorts of problems such as skin problems (acne), infections, overweight, problems with conversion of Omega 6 acids etcetera.

I never understood why the one person can eat the same and can remain skinny whereas the other person who even eats less and gains weight. There is therefore more to it than purely a calorie count. What I have actually experienced is that lean people apparently take more effective energy out of carbohydrates and have a lower sugar mirror and as a result must eat also more to keep this level up. The other group (me included) have apparently more difficulty with the conversion of carbohydrates and store apparently immediately some fat. It is therefore less active because energy is less available. If you do office work then you use a fraction of energy which is released, and you gain more weight. In my circle of friends I observe skinny friends in the morning who really want to eat (low blood sugar mirror) whereas the rest rather skips breakfast and postpone their appetite.

The big problem now is however that our modern diet has been based on bread, rice, potatoes and sugars (alcohol, snacks) and which precisely cause a considerable increase of that sugar mirror. Therefore if you want to keep your sugar mirror more stable then you should decrease these products considerably and choose nutrition with a lower gluten free value. Your pancreas gets some rest and you will have less appetite and be longer satisfied. Even more so if you choose good unheated fats such as cold pressed oil and raw nuts. Fat is very important for your health, among others for the brain and absorption of certain vitamins. And just the first thing people frequently do with excess weight is to eat fat free, the biggest mistake you can make. Your body will ask for more carbohydrates with the result of taxing your sugar mirror and with all impact thereof. You’ll be trapped in a vicious circle and be caught up in the well-known yoyo effect.

This site is my gift to you. I share to my knowledge with you in the hope that you examine good nutrition what it can do for your excess weight and health. It cost you nothing, you don’t have to buy a book with recipes but you will determine for yourself which alternative variation you will use. And something else, everybody always says that they can’t eat anything more. You must turn it around, and look at what you all can eat and build this up slowly. Occasional sinning is no problem as long as your daily foundation is sound.

There is still so much to discover what is good for your body. There is a new world for you opening up but you must further look beyond the path of the supermarket with many of its industrial temptations. Governments focus on distribution of drugs, antibiotics, hormones (through meat and dairy) and vaccinations. The real source of our problems is the food which is full of chemical garbage, insecticides and manipulated and refined grains, soya, fruits etc. Why get so many people cancer you think? Because we have turned our bodies into chemical machines, if you put the wrong fuel in it, one day
your motor will burst.

I don't have the money large fastfood and pharmaceutical companies have but will do my best to help you improve your health. I don't need money but any help with articles, advice, healthy recipes etc is welcome. One day the truth will be known and the food and pastfood industry tricks will be exposed. Keep in mind that large
multinationals first sell you high calorie icecreams and then try to sell you diet products.

Pharmaceuticals want long term customers so they produce products which you will need to use on the long term as they only cure the symptons and not the real cause of your sickness which in many cases is food/bowels related. Your
body can repair itself but only if you take the right organic foods and especially raw food products that contain a lot of amino acids, enzymes, minerals and anti-oxydants. Any time you bake, cook, fry food you loose healing power and your body will give up. If you eat the same products (bread, dairy, fastfood) over and over your immune system will become exhausted as it needs green vegetables, organic foods, olive oil, algae/seaweed products. 

I myself believe in the principle of karma. This also relates to animals and nature. If you abuse our nature and the animals (pollution, polluted food, stressful surroundings, use of growth hormones, pesticides) we will get it returned on our plate. We manipulate grains, want animals to grow too fast and refine good food so  little good food remains for our body. This negative energy returns as a boomerang to us and the new generations will pay the price for this abuse of nature.

See how many children worry with all kinds of food intolerances and sensitivities. Children are heavily vaccinated so that own natural defense system is undermined, good mother milk is replaced by cow milk, too fast introduction of wheat (gluten) in still vulnerable bowels of small children and addicting gifts that are given by the junkfood clans to attract a new generation of fastfood junkies. Stress combined with bad food will let both adults and children pay the price.

While more and more people suffer from dairy related health problems food companies and governments stilll continue to tell us that dairy products are healthy for us. But for many people the digestion of the milk proteine is a real problem. Also more and more people have a digestion problem with lactose causing allergies, colds and lots of slime in their body. Also people like Walter Willett are attacking the calcium story behind milk. If dairy would be so good for your bones why do many Europeans and Americans suffer from bone related problems. Also African and Asian people seem to miss the enzyme lactase which is needed to digest lactose. So it is a question if milk is really so healthy for people from other regions. More and more people use food with added vitamins or chemical supplements. This can damage your body lead when you get too much. If you use a pill which contains 100% of your daily needs and besides that you also use food with added vitamins and minerals whereto will lead this ? E.g Tto much vitamine A or Zinq can hurt you.

Also there is a theory that by preparing food in the magnetron the structure of food is changed as a result of which the body cannot recognise the feeding substances and also gives changes in your  blood. A swiss guy called Hans Hertel was silenced many years by the Swiss government but this decision was years later destroyed by the European court of human rights. This sentence had make an end to legal censorship of persons, who want establish the attention on the dangers for the health by certain products. 

I myself ignore synthetic and chemical products and go for vegetable products. I am recently busy with exploring the algae Chlorella which is interesting for people who now use spirulina or barley wheat.

If you become sick you can go the pharmaceutical route or go back to the source of your problems. If your doctor has no answers or knowledge of food/health related problems then time to look for alternative solutions.

An ordinary doctor looks at the symptoms and prefers the use of medicines. But the source of the problem has not been solved so the problem can become chronical. Natural doctors will focus on the source of your problems and also include your food habits.

You are what you eat so take care you get the best food possible, don't go for easy refined foods, they only starve you and make you go wild for snacks. Go for the good fats (nuts, fish), green supplements (chlorella, spirulina, barley weed), full grain products and be careful with animal products, dairy and fastfood. If you want to become older than 50-60 years it is time to change your life, one day you might regret you did not take the right decision. 

Which food is the most important for our health?

This is simply living food and raw food. What is the difference?

Living foods are very important for weight management, healing of incurable diseases, rejuvenation of your body, and life extension. They are rich in the eight essential amino acids, fatty acids, varieties of naturally-occurring sugars, chelated minerals, vitamins, chlorophyll, nucleic acids, hormones, water, and fiber. And they are the highest in enzymes and oxygen. Foods in this category: sprout mixtures of non-starchy small seeds, legumes and grains; sunflower and buckwheat baby greens; fresh juice of wheatgrass and barley and raw sauerkraut and food supplements which are low-heat processed to maintain their enzyme integrity like aloe vera, spirulina, chlorella, and the red Algae called Dunaliella.

Raw foods contain less enzymes and oxygen banks, but still enough to maintain your existing health: fresh, organic vegetables and ripe fruit, spices and herbs (fresh), sea vegetables, raw nuts, raw dairy products, and dried fruit that has been soaked for at least 5 hours.

    leak into your food. Phthalates can be absorbed through the skin, inhaled as fumes, ingested when they contaminate food or when children bite or suck on toys. Enzymes are essential for our health

Because of our overcooked diets, our digestion must "steal" enzymes from other organs setting up a competition for enzymes among various organ systems, "The resulting metabolic dislocations may be the direct cause of cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes and many other chronic incurable diseases." Lack of digestive enzymes, according to Dr Howell, is responsible for enlarged pituitary glands (the one that regulates all the others) and enlarged pancreases.

How to fight / prevent cancer

  • Avoid use of sugar or products containing sugar

    and Chinese vegetables. They all contain Indole-3-Carbinol (I3C) which is an important weapon in the anticancer arsenal. It initiates a series of reactions in the body that culminates in the elimination of estrogen. Limited evidence in cell culture experiments suggests that I3C can inhibit the invasion of normal tissue by cancer cells and inhibit the development of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) required by tumors to fuel their rapid growth. Sulforaphane has been shown to neutralize carcinogens before they could trigger tumors.     they are available in Europe or USA.

  • Low glycemic food products. What is the glycemic index?

The glycemic index is a ranking of carbohydrates based on their immediate effect on blood glucose (blood sugar) levels. It compares foods gram for gram of carbohydrate. Carbohydrates that breakdown quickly during digestion have the highest glycemic indexes. The blood glucose response is fast and high.     cleansing and detox process of the night. So your body has more time
    to get rid of bad stuff. Always start the day with taking warm (not hot!)
    water with bit of lemonjuice. This will activate your liver and remove
    mucilage from your bowels.

  • Too much dairy products, instead of milk and desserts take low fat
    yoghurt and cheese. Even beter is to replace dairy by more green vegetables, almonds and sesamseeds which are better sources of
    calcium. Simply keep in mind where the cow gets its calcium from,
    does an adult cow drink dairy products? No, they use green grass.
    The best thing you can do is grow barley wheat and extract juice
    from it. One glass contains 11 times the amount of calcium in a
    glass of milk and no side effects. If you have chronic forehead
    infections or colds keep in mind that dairy can be the reason. In
    that case drink soymilk for 1 month to see what happens.

  • Coffee and tea, stick to max 1 serving a day. If you drink tea
    drink it with a bit of skimmed milk so the calcium in your stomach
    is not absorbed by the acid (Tannin) in the tea. Better drink
    herbal teas, water, tomato juice, fresh fruit drinks (no sugar added).
    Also coffee and tea extra water so for each cup you need to drink
    2 glasses of water to compensate the loss. This is essential for
    weight loss. Water helps your body to get rid of things and gives
    energy to your cells and various digestion processes. Never drink
    shortly for, after or during a meal as the water will dilute the
    flatulence acid so digestion of your food will take much more time
    and energy.

  • Red meat, red meat and sugar fuel cancer cells so eat max 1-2
    times a week red meat. If you switch to vegetarian food be very
    careful with shortage of Vitamin B12 which is in animal products
    only and very important for your brain / memory functions.

  • Cereals like cornflakes, focus on cereals that have low glycemic
    values so which will not raise your blood sugar, good example is
    All Bran (Kelloggs). High bloodsugar means more fat storage and more graving moods and interest in bad carbs and sugar.

  • Skipping breakfast, your body will need more food in the evening
    which is resulting in more fat storage. The best way to start is
    taking for example oatmeal with lowfat milk or soymilk.

  • Avoid sugars including table sugar, maltose, glucose, aspartaam,
    sucrose, honey. Good sugar is frutose (fruit sugar). Also have a look
    at Stevia which is a plant from Paraguay. This plant replaced 60%
    of the sugar market in Japan.

  • Too much bread, bread contains glutes (sort of glue) so better eat
    the full grain version, spelt or pumpernickel and max 2-3 slices a day. You could start the day with oatmeal and east 2 slices as lunch combined with soup (vegetable, chicken, tomato or lentil soup)

  • Pork meat

  • Sleep in the dark. Use room-darkening shades or wear a sleep mask
    and keep your room cool. A dark room is important so your pineal can produce the hormone melatonin. Melatonin is made by the body’s pineal gland, a pea-sized gland located just above the middle of the brain. During the day, the pineal is inactive, however, as the sun goes down, darkness activates the pineal, and melatonin production begins. As melatonin levels in the blood rise, we also become less alert – and sleepy. The next morning, with daylight, melatonin decreases and alertness replaces the sleepiness.

  • Go to bed early (11 PM) so your liver can do its work. During the night the liver is cleaning your body and if you go to bed late not all the poison/waste will not be removed from your body.

  • Be careful with antibiotic products, they will ruine your stomach
    bacteria and cause digestion problems.

Columbus Eggs
It is well known that saturated fats are bad for us and polyunsaturated fats good, what is less well known is that of the two types of polyunsaturated fats, omega-6 (w6) and omega-3 (w3), we eat plenty of w6 and not enough of w3, when in fact they should balance.

An individual chlorella cell is barely larger than a human red blood cell which allows for micro fine filtering. This filtering process excludes any potentially toxic strain of algae or inorganic matter from entering the harvest. Ultrasonic sound is used to break the individual chlorella cell walls. This process preserves the phytonutrients and RNA / DNA values thus providing maximum absorbability. If the cell wall is not broken, the nutrients in chlorella are almost entirely unavailable as they are protected by a tough cellulose shell. One of its main functions is as a superior detoxifier: especially good before and after having silver / mercury amalgams removed from one's teeth. It helps to chelate with and draw heavy metals out of one's body.

Kefir is a fermented milk drink originating in the Caucasus. The drink is prepared by inoculating milk or soy milk with the grains - or "beads" - of previous kefir batches. Kefir grains are a combination of probiotic bacteria and yeasts in a matrix of proteins, lipids and sugars. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Saccharomyces kefir are widely used, though the exact combination of bacteria and yeasts vary between cultures. The milk is incubated at room temperature for a day or more, during which the lactose is fermented. The resulting beverage is a sour, carbonated, slightly alcoholic drink. The consistency is similar to yoghurt. In fact, most American "kefir" lacks both carbonation and alcohol and is nothing more than liquid yogurt.

Kombucha is the Western name for a fermentation of sweetened tea using lactobacilli and yeast cultures. The tea contains a symbiosis of yeast species and acetic acid bacteria. Species of yeast found in the tea can vary, and may include: Brettanomyces bruxellensis, Candida stellata, Schizosaccharomyces pombe, Torulaspora delbrueckii and Zygosaccharomyces bailii. Some studies have found potent anti-stress, hepato-protective, antioxidant and immunomodulating properties in Kombucha preparations given to rats. The name Kombucha is pseudo-Japanese. In Japanese this word denotes a tea-like infusion (cha) made from brown kelp (kombu). This Japanese Kombucha is not fermented and does not contain parts of the tea plant. It is not sweet, but sometimes it is salted. It tastes like a thin soup and it is a favourite food for reconvalescense of sick persons who cannot yet eat stronger food.

Stevia is a genus of about 150 species of herbs and shrubs belonging to the Asteraceae (sunflower) family, native to subtropical and tropical South America and Central America (north to Mexico).
For centuries, the Guarani Native Americans of Paraguay and Brazil used Stevia species, primarily S. rebaudiana which they called ka'a he' ("sweet herb"), as a sweetener in yerba mate and medicinal teas for treating such conditions as obesity, high blood pressure, and heartburn. It has recently seen greater attention with the rise in demand for low-carbohydrate, low-sugar food alternatives, and is widely used as a sweetener in Japan, and is available in the US and Canada as a health food supplement. In 1931, French chemists isolated the glycosides that give stevia its sweet taste. These extracts were named steviosides and rebaudiosides. These compounds are 250–300 times sweeter than sucrose (ordinary table sugar). Stevia's sweet taste has a slower onset and longer duration than sugar's, and especially at high concentration, it has bitter and and liquorice-like off-tastes. Stevia does not significantly alter blood glucose, and so can be safely consumed by diabetics.

In the 70s, the Japanese people began cultivating stevia as an alternative to artificial sweeteners such as cyclamate and saccharin, which were at that time suspect carcinogens. The plant's leaves, and purified steviosides are used as sweeteners. Stevia sweeteners have been produced since 1977 and are widely used in food products, soft drinks, and for table use. Japan currently consumes more stevia than any other country; there, stevia accounts for 40% of the sweetener market.

Adzuki beans
The azuki bean (adzuki) is an annual vine widely grown throughout northeast Asia and the Himalaya for its small (approximately 5mm) bean . The cultivars most familiar in northeast Asia have a uniform red color, but white, black, gray and variously mottled varieties are also known. Genetic evidence indicates that the azuki bean was first domesticated in the Himalaya. It was cultivated in China and Korea before 1000 BC. It was later taken to Japan, where it is now the second most popular legume after the soybean. Contains B1, B2, Iron and kalium. Is recommend by Reiner Schmidt for kidney problems.

Pitanga, Suriname cherry
Comes originally from South-America. The colour is red and it contains lots of vitamine C. Taste: sharp/sour

Olive oil
Limited and not conclusive scientific evidence suggests that eating about two tablespoons (23 grams) of olive oil daily may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease due to the monounsaturated fat in olive oil. To achieve this possible benefit, olive oil is to replace a similar amount of saturated fat and not increase the total number of calories you eat in a day. It has been documented that olive oil intake bolsters the immune system against external attacks from microorganisms, bacteria or viruses. Recent research has concluded that the fatty acids in the make-up of olive oil are good allies in lowering important immunological parameters such as the proliferation of lymphocytes induced by specific mitogens of both B- and T-cells. These fatty acids have been reported to play an important part in various immune functions. They are involved in regulating inflammatory processes and they may be effective in the treatment of some autoimmune diseases and in the regulation of the immune system in general. When consumed, olive oil produces a small amount of secretion by the pancreas, making this organ "work" little, but efficiently and enough to carry out all its digestive functions. Olive oil is recommended in diseases where pancreatic function has to be maintained, such as pancreas failure, chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, malabsorption syndromes, etc. Owing to the sitosterol it contains, olive oil partially prevents cholesterol absorption by the small intestine. It also stimulates the absorption of various nutrients (calcium, iron, magnesium, etc.).

Quinoa comes originally from the Andean region of South America, where it has been an important food for 6,000 years. Quinoa is generally undemanding and altitude-hardy, so it can be easily cultivated in the Andes up to about 4,000 meters. Unlike wheat or rice, quinoa contains a full complement of the amino acids that the human body can't produce itself, making it an unusually complete foodstuff. It also contains essential omega-3 fatty acids, which provide benefit to the heart.

White tea
New studies conducted at Pace University have indicated that White Tea Extract (WTE) may have prophylactic applications in retarding growth of bacteria that cause Staphylococcus infections, Streptococcus infections, pneumonia and dental caries. The effect of WTE was determined by observing zones of inhibition of bacteria grown on Mueller Hinton II Agar (Kirby-Bauer technique). White tea was more effective than green tea at inactivating bacterial viruses. . Results obtained with the bacterial virus, a model system; suggest that WTE may have an anti-viral effect on human pathogenic viruses. The addition of White Tea Extract to various toothpastes enhanced the anti-microbial effect of these oral agents. Studies have also indicated that WTE has an anti-fungal effect on Penicillium chrysogenum and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. In the presence of WTE, Penicillium spores and Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells were totally inactivated. It is suggested that WTE may have an anti-fungal effect on pathogenic fungi.

White tea" does not refer to black tea with milk, but rather to a specific form of tea in which the leaves and buds are simply steamed and dried. In this sense, white tea represents the least processed form of tea, since green, oolong and black teas undergo withering before various degrees of oxidation. White tea also contains a higher proportion of buds, which are covered with fine 'silvery' hairs that impart a light white/grey color to the tea. White tea brews to a pale yellow/light red color, and has a slightly sweet flavor with no 'grassy' undertones sometimes associated with green tea.

Researchers at the LPI tested four types of white tea for their ability to inhibit mutations in bacteria, and subsequently examined the protective properties in a rat colon cancer model. In the former studies using bacteria, white teas were generally more effective than green tea in inhibiting mutagenicity (mutagenicity is a result of unrepaired/misrepaired DNA damage and an early step in the process leading to cancer). White teas contained many of the expected polyphenols, some of which were present at higher concentrations than in green tea brewed under the same conditions. Other constituents, such as caffeine, also were present at higher levels in white tea.

Fruits are round to oblate, cherry-like but with 3 lobes. They are bright red and easily bruised.  The fruit is very high in Vitamin C, up to 4,000 mg per 100 g fresh weight, but typically around 1,500 mg C. Green fruits have twice the Vitamin C level of mature fruits. 

Wild Yukon King Salmon
The Yukon river King Salmon has the highest omega 3 fatty acids of all the wild salmon species. All the salmon found in Alaskan waters are wild! In fact it is illegal to farm salmon in Alaska. The term wild salmon means that the fish are free range and can complete their natural life cycle without being penned and fed artifical foods.

A pilot study conducted by Dr Easton with David Suzuki Foundation found that farmed salmon and the feed they were fed appeared to have a much higher level of contamination with respect to PCBs, organo-chlorine pesticides and polybrominated diphenyl ethers than did wild salmon. It concluded that it seems that contamination in farm fish comes from the feed.

Wild Yam
Researchers have learned that there are various natural herbal substances such as the Mexican Yam or Wild Yam that enable the body to produce its own DHEA. These natural nutritional substances, known as precursors, are a simple and relatively inexpensive way to allow the body to manufacture DHEA as it is needed. In recent years, a great deal of scientific and public interest has been generated over the possible health-promoting properties of a hormone called DHEA or dehydroepiandrosterone. In fact, over 40,000 articles have been published in both professional journals and popular magazines relating to the positive effects of DHEA upon human health. This hormone is produced by the adrenal glands which rest on top of each kidney. Researchers consider DHEA to be the "mother hormone" because it can readily be converted into other hormones including estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, and cortisone.  The adrenal glands produce more of this critical substance than any other adrenal hormone and it is present at higher levels in our bloodstream than other hormones. Maintaining proper DHEA blood levels is necessary for the support and regulation of the many body functions that involve our endocrine system and affect our health, energy and longevity.

Wild rice
Almost always sold as a whole grain, wild rice is very high in protein, the amino acid lysine and dietary fiber, and is low in fat. Like normal rice, it does not contain gluten. It is also a good source of the minerals potassium and phosphorus, and the vitamins thiamine, riboflavin and niacin. Because of its nutritional value and taste, wild rice increased in popularity in the late 20th century, and commercial cultivation began in the US and Canada to supply the increased demand. California and Minnesota are the main producers in the USA. Wild rice is the official state grain of Minnesota.

Kamut brand grain has higher nutritional value than the common wheats. The most striking superiority is found in the protein level of this grain. Kamut brand wheat is also significantly higher in total lipids. Since lipids are higher in energy than carbohydrates and proteins, Kamut brand wheat can be described as a high-energy grain. The vast majority of the nutrition in this grain, however, is in the form of complex carbohydrates whose value in the diet is well documented. Kamut brand grain has significantly more magnesium and zinc than the average wheat. Most Kamut products have a very low glycemic index. This means that glucose is liberated very slowly during digestion and supplies energy during a long period of time. Low glycemic foods are very important for diabetics, dieters and athletes who look for foods that do not stimulate insulin and fat-storage.

Alfalfa is suggested to be a good cleanser and a natural diuretic. This herb is also a folk remedy for joint stress, and is reputed to be an excellent appetite stimulant and overall tonic Alfalfa is one of the most mineral-rich foods known, alfalfa has roots that grow as much as 130 feet into the earth. Alfalfa is available in liquid extract form and is good to use while fasting because of its chlorophyll and nutrient content. It contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, plus beta-carotene, vitamins A,B-12, C, D, E and K. The minerals are in a balanced form, which promotes absorption.
